FAQ

The Ydro Process® product contains hydrolytic enzymes, facultative cultures, aerobic cultures, trace elements, and biological enhancers.

This information is confidential and cannot be disclosed. The products contain a mix of microbial strains tailored to the type of wastewater treated. These are pure cultures of natural origin, non-toxic, and genetically unmodified. The cultures consist of non-pathogenic gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria from the Firmicutes and Proteobacteria groups.

It has been determined that the microbial population grows at 10⁷–10⁸ CFU/g. Once the dry microorganisms are hydrated and reach the activation phase, they double every 20–30 minutes.

All products are manufactured at Hydrotech Environmental facilities located within the European Union.

The Ydro Process® product can be dosed either into the sewer system, the wastewater reception chamber, or the aeration tank.

The wastewater treatment plant operator doses the microorganisms daily at the same time to maintain a consistent microbial population. In septic tanks and suction pits, microorganisms are dosed once per week.

The Ydro Process® dose is mixed with 10–20 liters of water at a temperature of 15–20 °C. After adding the product to the water, it should be stirred for 1–2 minutes and then left to stand for 14–16 hours in a room where the temperature is 15–20 °C. Direct sunlight must be avoided.

Ydro Process® involves the continuous adaptation of selected microbial populations to the operating conditions of local wastewater treatment facilities to achieve targeted outcomes. The added bacteria become dominant, while the existing ones adapt and coexist. Under appropriate conditions, the added microorganisms produce enzymes that enhance the hydrolysis process. During hydrolysis, complex organic compounds and fats are broken down into simple organic molecules – volatile fatty acids.

The final by-products of the Ydro Process® are:

Water and carbon dioxide in the aerobic stage.

Carbon dioxide, methane, hydrogen, and trace amounts of hydrogen sulfide (<50–100 ppm) in the anaerobic stage.

The product “Ydro 20” is a specialized solution designed for cleaning sewer networks and wastewater collection systems. It cleans pipelines, pumping stations, and manholes, removes odors from the network, and partially breaks down organic matter in wastewater before it reaches the treatment plant. The degradation of organic substances depends heavily on the length and design of the sewer system as well as the initial wastewater parameters. Additionally, if industrial wastewater enters the system, the product can be adapted and formulated to match specific wastewater characteristics and even be integrated into the primary treatment stage of each industry.

The ideal pH range is 6–9. However, depending on local conditions, this range may vary slightly in specific applications.

A significant portion of the measured inorganic content in conventional sludge consists of slowly degradable organic substances and inorganic salts. Ydro Process® breaks down part of these materials and salts, releasing inorganic ions such as Ca²⁺, K⁺, Na⁺, Mg²⁺, etc. The remaining inorganic materials are removed during the grit and sand separation stage.

The microorganisms used are similar in resilience to standard wastewater bacteria. However, the Ydro Process® product has been specially formulated to withstand harsh wastewater conditions more effectively.

The guaranteed shelf life of our microorganisms is three months when stored at room temperature with low humidity. Tests have shown that the microorganisms remain highly active even beyond the recommended storage period.
